Secret Girlfriend adds a twist to the current recipe for comedies; take funny guys, add attractive women, and put them together. Comedy Central has taken a successful web series and brings its unique element to TV. In Secret Girlfriend, the viewer is the star of the show. The entire episode is viewed in first person. The camera serves as your eyes and the actors interact directly with the viewer.
Secret Girlfriend Plot
The entire show focuses on your life and adventures with your friends. There is also the ever present goal to meet more women. Sam and Phil sit around thinking of plans to meet more attractive women but would not require a lot of work from them. There is also the constant struggle between your feelings for Mandy and Jessica.
Mandy is the crazy ex-girlfriend that can get you anything you want. Jessica is the ideal girl that could lead to a future relationship. As the view, you navigate between the two, trying to keep them apart while enjoying life with your friends.

The Viewer
- The viewer is the star of the show. As the star, the action revolves around the camera and the viewer’s life. From this perspective your life, with its joys and stress, is the central focus of the episode.
Sam
- Your hyperactive friend that is always ready to try something new, no matter how crazy it may seem. He is the most proficient on the computer and often develops new web video.
Phil
- Sam's roommate. Phil serves more as the group leader. He is an idea man, constantly getting the viewer and Sam into different situations. Phil often shows glimpses of his brilliance but usually develops strategies for avoiding doing almost everything except partying and having fun.
Your Female Friends
Mandy
- Your ex-girlfriend that has changed her mind and now wants to start her relationship with you again. She is also the person that brings stress and drama into each episode. Mandy is gorgeous but stalks you everywhere you go. Part of the struggle is that you are still physically and sexually attracted to her.
Jessica
- Jessica is the down to earth, girl next door type that is fun to be around. She has simple tastes and thinks that it is fun to enjoy activities with your group of friends. Jessica has a long distance boyfriend but early flirting could lead to a future relationship. For now, a friend is the goal and this is probably the most stable person within your group of friends.
Comedy Central brings this web series to TV using its successful first person perspective. The episodes are brief glimpses from somewhat random parts of your day. The humor in Secret Girlfriend contains adult content but does manage to bring some new elements into the classic guy gets girl comedy.
